Wicked Windstone Weekend Details

October 17, 2026 at Windstone Landing Farms in Columbia Cross Roads, Pennsylvania. How many loops can you run?

Current Event Notes

The Wicked Windstone Loop is a trail-running event built around a single honest 5K loop that rewards patience, execution, and resilience.

The Venue

Nestled among the farms, forests, and hills of Columbia Cross Roads, Pennsylvania, Windstone Landing Farms blends agricultural heritage with rugged natural terrain. For one October race weekend, the property becomes home base for runners, crews, campers, and volunteers gathering for a shared challenge.

The Course

A single lap gives runners a full tour of Windstone Landing Farms, moving through active farmland, pond views, rolling hills, wooded singletrack, towering pines, creek-side trail, and natural terrain that stays engaging from start to finish.

The Route

Each lap starts and finishes at the aid station area, immediately passes beneath the property's willow tree, crosses the pond land bridge, loops the eastern field, and then heads into the northern woodlands. Along the way runners move through dense forest, a hand-built log bridge, old landmarks like the hunting blind, and finally into The Wall before returning through the pine and fern sections, the farmstead corridor, Windstone Lane, and the short out-and-back toward Hoblet Road.

The 100-mile event starts at a designated point about 0.934 kilometers before the main start/finish area and then completes 32 full loops of the course.

Course Statistics

  • Distance: 5 kilometers (3.1 miles)
  • Elevation gain: approximately 300 feet per loop
  • Surface: mixed farm roads, mowed fields, wooded trails, pine forest, and natural terrain
  • Terrain classification: rolling trail course
  • Crew and spectator access: start/finish area, aid station area, and select open areas that do not impede runners
  • Aid station access: every loop

Elevation & Difficulty

The course is challenging enough to be respected, yet runnable enough to allow significant mileage. It is not a true mountainous ultra, but it is not flat either.

  • 5K: 1 loop, about 300 feet climbing
  • 50K: 10 loops, 3,000+ feet climbing
  • 100K: 20 loops, 6,000+ feet climbing
  • 100 Mile: 32 loops plus offset start, 10,000+ feet climbing near the 100-mile mark

The Wall

Every memorable course has a defining feature. At Windstone, it is The Wall, a steep climb that appears late in the loop and grows larger with every lap.

The Wicked Reversal

At least once during the race, air horns and or cowbells will announce The Wicked Reversal. Runners finish the current lap, check in at the start and finish with the race director, and then begin the next lap and subsequent laps in the opposite direction until the organizers signal the end of the reversal.

The timing is unknown. The duration is unknown. The only certainty is that every runner must adapt. 5K runners are not subject to the reversal, and the reversed direction will change the elevation profile even if nobody knows exactly how yet.
